Official Shortened Cycle Coming

Ivoclar will be releasing the "Official" shortened cycle.  They did not like the 12:40 cycle that was circulating as they felt that you didn't get a complete conversion of the lithium metasilicate to the disilicate.  Now anyone that used the shortened cycle knows that clinically it performed flawlessly.  But now that Ivoclar has released their own official cycle, I see no reason not to use it instead of the 12:40 cycle.

The new Ivoclar cycle is a bit longer 14:50 in length but that shaves off a full 5 minutes from the 19+ minute cycle that was previously working.  In a few weeks, you will be able to buy a kit that will program your CS oven for the cycle.  The kit comes with a new firing tray as well as a disk to reprogram your oven.  All you do is take a pc computer and connect it to the oven as shown below.  Put the disk in the computer and launch the file.   The software will walk you through the prompts to reprogram your oven.

I've got a video ready on how to do it and will upload it once the product is released from Ivoclar but for now, just know that you have to connect the computer to the oven and the rest is pretty easy.

Does it delete all the custom cycles, or does it just replace #3 "spray cycle?"

Ivoclar is still trying to fill pipeline on this, or so my rep says. Told me I have to wait for disk and new tray.

Steve, there is a section on ivoclar website for downloads, and they talk about a way to preserve custom cycles

The disk will replace only cycle #3 their older speed cycle of 19:50.

The kits are available through Patterson. $99. The Patterson part # is #077086101
