Vita Enamic to be Released Early Next Year

Here is the first official picture of the Vita Enamic block.  I just got a sleeve of blocks that I will be doing some milling and testing on and will report back my findings.  This block is supposedly a "Hybrid Material" that is a matrix of ceramic infiltrated with a resin matrix.

Advantages according to Vita-  flexible, wear similar to enamel, strong.  The ceramic matrix gives the material strength, the composite gives it flexibility.  Supposedly the best of both worlds.

The potential advantages I see as a clinician- the ability to mill fast (reports are saying about 4 minutes for a full crown- Ill test that next week and report back) and no need for crystallization resulting in a shorter appointment time.      We will be doing some webinars and sending out information in the coming weeks but please follow along as we discover this new material that will be another tool in our toolbelt of restorative material.    The name Enamic comes from Enamel+ Ceramic = Enamic
