Black Background for CEREC Photography

You have all seen the gurus when they take their photos showcase a beautiful close up with a black background.  Reference the photo below.  You can see the preoperative photo taken on a patient who we are preparing to restore with new veneers.  The photo looks great but how do you get the black background behind the teeth?

 

 

Its actually quite simple- its a device called the contraster.  You can buy them for about 30 bucks from http://photomed.net/contrasters.htm or take a piece of black construction paper or foam piece and make your own.  

 

You simply insert the piece below the teeth and take your photo.  Here is what they look like- this photo is from the Photomed website:
