4.0.3: The Unadapted Recalculation Tool

Have you seen this?  This is what happens occasionally when you are imaging things that are not the norm. For example, this sometimes happens when you try to image an implant, and you are trying to fit a molar on that small little abutment.  Prior to 4.03, there was little that could be done to salvage this situation. Not much could be done to design this particular type of restoration other than simply just going back, redoing your insertion axis and moving forward.

But with 4.03, the long-awaited Preposition tool was reintroduced in the form of Unadapted Recalculation. Any time you see a proposal like this, simply click on your tool menu and use the Unadapted Recalculation tool to reset this. When using the Unadapted Recalculation, adjust the size and shape of the raw proposal and recalculate. Quick, easy, simple – and more importantly, it allows you to clean up any obscure designs such as implants, Maryland bridges and poorly positioned abutments for bridges.

Several videos in our Digital Learning section review the Unadapted Recalculation tool in more detail, but just remember, if you have a "wonky" proposal, don’t pick up the PV.
