Protect and Pray - Another Great Use of CEREC

If you do esthetic all ceramic restorations these are words to live by. If people can destroy the teeth they were born with you better believe they can destroy anything you make.  Even crowns on implants can suffer the consequences. Occlusal guards are part of my normal course of treatment. I will do anything to increase the success of my work.

I have discovered a side benefit of doing Optiguides for my implant cases. We spend the time to get a great accurate scan to import into the Galaxis software for correct planning. I plan with the placement of the prosthetics in mind which is why I utilize SiCat for guide fabrication.

We can take the same file, and if we spent the minute or two to image the full arch, we can, with a click of the button, send the same arch to Dreamgard for splint fabrication. If the teeth we are restoring are in the maxillary arch we can save the rstimg file and, after making the restorations, we can just cut that area out and reimage. This just takes a few seconds.

In a few days not only a precision guide is in the office, a great fitting occlusal splint is also delivered to my office!

For me nothing is better than when I can get my CEREC to multitask. With one scan, I can accomplish multiple procedures.
